Just who is Purple Hat?
Fresno, CA based, wilderness photographer, writer, poet, tent maker, and adventurer, Purple Hat spends extended time each summer in the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains furthering his nature ministry, by witnessing God's love to others, communing with God, photographing God's handiwork, and researching upcoming book projects.

This winter Purple Hat expects to have finished and available for sale his book, "Wildflowers of the John Muir Trail!  A Unique Father Son Backpacking Trip" which aside from showing plants that God created on the third day, offers the touching tale of his taking an ounce of his Father's cremains along to scatter atop Mt. Whitney.

Also scheduled for release this winter are his books "Swimming the John Muir Trail!" and "Swimming the Highest 100 Lakes in Callifornia!"  When asked recently by a friend whether Purple Hat was worried that he wouldn't have anyone along with him when he was swimming all of these lakes, many of them above 12,000 feet and most of them in very remote areas not reached by a trail, Purple Hat responded that he wasn't as he would "have God with him."
