 "My Cross"
Purple Hat was taking an ounce of his Father's cremains down the John Muir Trail in 2004 to scatter atop Mt. Whitney, a place he had been to when he was a teen, and had spoken about often, when the two of them came upon this cross of new ferns. The ferns, which were smaller than are shown in the 20" x 30" image, appeared to have just started to grow that season, in early June, a time they were supposed to start their journey, but they got delayed for more than a month. Purple Hat had been by this place six times before, and had never seen these ferns. People in front of them walked right by it and didn't comment about it. Obviously, they couldn't see it, as it had been just grown for Purple Hat and his father to see; a sign that what Purple Hat was doing was appreciated from on high.
As Purple Hat took this image, God told him that He wanted him to get this image into every Church in America!
